This project reminded me a lot of the project we had in ux design where we got into three person groups and slowly designed an app over the course of a full semester. this project did not last as long, but it was close enough to feel similar. I'm glad we were able to pick the topic for this project and that is how our groups were made. It made it so that everyone was interested in the topic and made it easier to work as a group.
We started the project off by wanting to influence voting and getting more people to vote. after going through our in person interviews and research methods we found that in order to get people in our community to vote, there would need to be some things in place that would be used to lift up the community and encourage them to get political. We decided that community outreach was the best way forward to do so.
We designed a game that would encourage people to donate to nonprofit organizations, and inform them of important information related to the organizations. The game is a monopoly like game were they move around the board and donate money to the places were they land.
overall, i learned a lot from this project. I learned about the importance of research in a project. I also learned that someone can't just go out and begin researching people without consulting the right people before hand. there were times where we would not do anything with the project for a week and when we got in small groups it would take everyone a little time to get back up to speed, but i did appreciate how we took a break to work on something new half way through. It was a unique flow of a semester with projects, but i enjoyed working on the projects enough to never feel overwhelmed.
