Hello to everyone who’s explored my portfolio!
I’m Britt, a graphic designer based in Austin, Texas. Moving to Austin after graduating from college during the height of the pandemic was a daunting challenge. However, reflecting on the past three years, I’m thrilled to have taken this path. I’m now happily married to my wonderful wife, have adopted two adorable cats, and have connected with many incredible people.
I first discovered my passion for graphic design while living in Tokyo, Japan. My family relocated there during a time when I was especially receptive to new ideas. The vibrant cityscape, adorned with diverse fonts and eye-catching posters, ignited my inspiration. When choosing a college, one of the key factors I considered was the strength of their design program. I ultimately chose the University of Arkansas due to its growing art program and its top-tier track and field team—another major factor in my decision.
While pursuing a BFA in graphic design, I worked part-time as a paid design intern for the University’s Housing Department. This role enhanced my efficiency and provided valuable experience collaborating with both students and professionals. It also affirmed my decision to pursue a design career, as working as a graphic designer in a high-pressure environment felt natural.
After moving to Austin, I joined Rosco Laboratories as a graphic artist. I started just as they were ramping up to pre-COVID order levels while still being understaffed, which required me to quickly master their complex processes with minimal instruction. This experience highlighted the importance of consistency, as even a small mistake could lead to significant issues down the line.
While working at Rosco, I took on freelance projects with ROI Swift, a marketing agency. My tasks included creating marketing materials for companies selling on Amazon, such as product images and branded content videos. Additionally, ROI Swift hired me to create a video advertisement for their own use.
My design journey feels like it’s just beginning, but I’m already immensely grateful for the opportunities I've had to pursue my passion.
